Oregon Living with Fire is guided by the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy’s framework and vision: To safely and effectively extinguish fire when needed; use fire where allowable; manage our natural resources; and collectively, learn to live with wildland fire.

There are three primary goals that are necessary to achieving the vision.

Discover Your Forest is partnering with Quizhead Games to do a couple of rounds of wildland fire and forest health questions.  Test your knowledge and have some fun!


We are pleased to announce that we will now be accepting applicants for the 2024 Central Oregon Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (TREX), being held April 29th-May 10th in Bend, Oregon!  We will be accepting applications between now and Feb. 18th, so please don’t delay in applying or sharing with your partners and colleagues.Link to Application: https://forms.office.com/r/rd331MALFFAbout Central OR TREX: The objective of the two-week TREX program in Central Oregon is to facilitate peer-to-peer, experiential learning for prescribed fire professionals and others interested in advancing innovative tools to restore fire-adapted ecosystems. Participants will engage in hands-on training in the ecology of fire-adapted ecosystems, communications and community outreach, prescribed fire monitoring, operational assignments, prescribed fire use, and collaboration among a diverse array of participating individuals and organizations.If you have questions on the application process or about Central OR TREX, please contact Thomas Stokely (thomas.stokely@tnc.org).

Grants
 
The FY24 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management Oregon/Washington (ORWA) Fuels Management and Community Fire Assistance Programmatic NOFO has posted to Grants.gov.  Applications will be accepted from November 20, 2023, through February 22, 2024. There will be two rounds of applications accepted for this NOFO.  The first round will be from November 22, 2023 – January 22, 2024.
The second and final round will be from January 22, 2024 – February 22, 2024.
